Global Search
The command palette lets you search across all your Zendesk configuration objects from anywhere in Configly.
Opening Search
- Press ++cmd+k++ (Mac) / ++ctrl+k++ (Windows/Linux) from any page
- Or click the Search button on the dashboard
Keyboard shortcut
++cmd+k++ / ++ctrl+k++ opens the command palette from anywhere in the app.
How It Works
- Open the command palette
- Start typing — results appear as you type (with a short debounce)
- Results are grouped by configuration type (triggers, macros, views, etc.)
- Click a result to navigate directly to that item's detail page
What Gets Searched
Global search indexes all 41 configuration types that Configly syncs. When you search, results are returned across every type in your current connection.
| Group | Configuration Types | Count |
|---|---|---|
| Objects & Rules | Triggers, Automations, Macros, Views, SLA Policies, Trigger Categories, Ticket Fields, Ticket Forms, Custom Statuses, Tags, Ticket Settings, Routing Attributes, Routing Attribute Values, Queues, Custom Objects, Custom Object Fields, Support Addresses, Dynamic Content | 18 |
| People | Groups, User Fields, Organisation Fields, Custom Roles | 4 |
| Channels | Webhooks, Targets, Sharing Agreements | 3 |
| Account | Brands, Schedules, Locales, Account Settings, OAuth Clients, Workspaces | 6 |
| Apps & Integrations | App Installations, Apps Owned, OAuth Global Clients, Resource Collections | 4 |
| Guide | Articles, Sections, Categories, Themes, User Segments, Permission Groups | 6 |
Search matches on object names, descriptions, field values, conditions, actions, and tags. Results are ranked by relevance and grouped by type.
Search Tips
- Search is case-insensitive
- Partial matches work — type "esc" to find "Escalation" triggers
- Results show a preview snippet for context
- Each result displays an icon indicating its configuration type
Recent Searches
The command palette remembers your 5 most recent searches per connection. These appear when you open the palette before typing anything.
Limitations
- Search only works on synced data — run a sync first to ensure results are current
- Search is scoped to the current connection
Next Steps
- Dashboard overview — Browse configuration by type
- Compare snapshots — Find what changed over time
