What the app does
The Configly Zendesk Marketplace app is a free nav bar app that scans your Zendesk instance for configuration issues and displays the results directly inside the admin experience. It is free forever with no trial, no credit card, and no subscription required.
The app shows:
- Risk score (0-100) showing overall configuration health
- Findings grouped by severity: critical (broken references, deleted dependencies), warning (inactive items, missing best practices), and info (optimisation suggestions)
- Configuration summary with item counts across all object types (triggers, automations, macros, views, fields, SLA policies, and more)
Installing the app
Find Configly in the Zendesk Marketplace
You can also go to Admin Centre > Apps and integrations > Zendesk Marketplace and search for Configly.
Install the app
Click Install and confirm the installation.
Access the app
The Configly icon appears in your left nav bar.
Connecting for the first time
Open the app panel
Click the Configly icon in the nav bar to open the app panel.
Start the connection
Click "Connect to Configly". An OAuth authorisation popup opens.
Authorise access
Review the permissions and click Allow on the Zendesk consent screen.
Wait for the scan
Configly automatically syncs your instance and runs a health check. Results appear within about a minute.
If you do not already have a Configly account, one is created automatically using your Zendesk email address.
Reading your results
The results view includes several key components:
- Risk score gauge at the top of the panel. Scores above 70 (red) indicate high risk, 40 to 70 (amber) is medium risk, and below 40 (green) is low risk.
- Severity summary bar showing counts of critical, warning, and info findings.
- "Needs attention" section listing critical and warning findings. Click any finding to expand its details.
- Info findings are collapsed by default. Click "Show info findings" to expand them.
- Instance overview grid at the bottom showing the number of items for each configuration type.
Refreshing your scan
Click "Refresh scan" below the instance overview to re-sync your Zendesk instance and get updated findings. This is useful after making configuration changes. Your previous results remain visible while the new scan runs.
Exploring the full Configly dashboard
Click "Explore your Configly dashboard" at the bottom of the app panel to open a personalised report. This shows your health check findings alongside the features available in the full Configly platform: change history, visual diffing, what-if simulation, dependency mapping, and safe deployment of configuration changes.
The marketplace app is completely free. Upgrading to the full Configly platform is optional.

The OAuth popup does not close after I approve access
I see a "Session expired" message
The app is not loading or shows an error
No findings are showing after connecting
