What is cross-instance comparison?

Cross-instance comparison will let you compare the configuration of two different Zendesk instances side by side. While the standard diff compares snapshots within the same instance over time, cross-instance comparison will show differences between two separate environments.

Planned use cases

Staging vs production — verify that your sandbox matches production, or identify configuration drift
Cross-brand audit — compare configuration across brands to ensure consistency
Migration verification — after migrating configuration, verify the target matches the source

What's available now

You can compare two snapshots from the same connection using the diff engine. Navigate to Compare in your connection sidebar, select two snapshot versions, and click Compare.
