User Fields
User fields are custom fields attached to user profiles (both agents and end-users). They allow you to capture additional information about users beyond Zendesk's standard fields.

Examples:
- Employee ID (text)
- Department (dropdown)
- Manager name (text)
- Hire date (date)
What Configly Captures
For each user field, Configly stores the field title, key, type, description, active status, display settings, and options (for dropdown fields). Configly tracks these under the People group in your dashboard.
Viewing in Configly
User fields appear under People in your connection dashboard. You can filter by field type and status, view field options, and compare configurations across snapshots or connections.
Tips
- Use Configly's diff feature to track changes to user field definitions over time
- Check dependencies before removing user fields — they may be referenced by triggers, views, or macros
- Compare user field configurations across instances to ensure consistency
